Digital video recording and playback
DVRs are recording devices used mainly for analogue cameras. The DVR converts the composite video into digital video via ports fitted on the back of the unit and is fitted with 1 or more hard disk drives for recording.
NVRs work similarly to DVRs except NVRs do not have analogue channels; they only record IP cameras. Most NVRs have a 4 -16 port PoE switch built in and can range in channel support – from 4 to 64 channels. We supply a huge range of NVRs and brands.
Server based recording is ideal for larger companies that boast over 64 cameras and/or have multiple sites or branches. The server will have software that records the IP cameras to a storage controller.
